Its not really a surprise that in the last three days Emma has come home from school with two kindness rocks certificates. One was for sharing a book with a kid in her class and the other was for helping a kid with his art project.

Today is the final day of the reading fundraiser at Emma’s school. To celebrate two weeks of reading the school had book character day. Emma (and probably half of the kindergarten girls) chose to dress up as Fancy Nancy. Ooh la la. I figured this was the perfect time

Today was Olivia’s second day of school. I spent my free time painting the mud room. It was the last room I wanted to get repainted. I had enough time left over to make more apple cookies. Now I have to figure out what to do next Friday! I’

We’ve had some rain. Actually... we’ve had a lot of rain. Three days of almost constant rain. It’s not just a sprinkle either. It’s the huge rain drops, hail the size of a quarter, pitch black outside in the middle of the day kind of rain.

Olivia started school at Emma’s old preschool today. She’s doing the 2 year old class that Emma did. Same teachers. Same room. Olivia had a blast! There wasn’t a single tear... unlike Emma who cried every time for at least the first month. While I had 2

I don’t know the last time I owned a bike. I don’t really remember riding a bike very much as a kid, only rollerblading. I’m also pretty sure I never had a bike with gears. Beach cruisers are more my speed. Now that Emma is without training

I can’t believe how much Emma learned this week... and it’s not over yet! One of her proudest accomplishments is riding her bike without training wheels. On Saturday she couldn’t even balance on her bike. By Monday she was riding around the block. She’s been practicing
