wrapping up

The leaves are changing. The weather is getting colder. That means our time in Minnesota is coming to an end and it is time to get back to the boat.

I mean... just look at this weeks forecast. 80 on Tuesday to snow on Thursday.

Before we can get back to warmer weather there were some things we needed to wrap up... first was gymnastics. Getting back into gymnastics was one thing both girls really wanted to do this summer.

Next was volleyball. It was Olivia's first year of volleyball and she said it has taken the top spot from tennis as her new favorite sport.

Next... packages. We had a lot of stuff we wanted to get to the boat - Christmas presents, new towels, school books and anything else we thought we might need. Shipping all that stuff is much easier than bringing it along with us. Plus it will all be there waiting for us by the time we get there.

Something the girls have been asking about since we got back was going to visit their elementary school, so we got up early and went to visit some of the very special teachers and staff before their school day started.

Last, and by far the most difficult one - saying goodbye to Pancake. Emma gets really emotional about this one. Luckily last year we found a very special family to look after her while we're away. We know she is in really good hands, so it makes it a little easier to leave her knowing we won't have to worry about her while we're gone.
