A day and a half is nowhere near enough time to see DC, but we tried our best. On Saturday we took a break from the boat show and took the girls to the children's museum.

On Monday we hit the ground running early to try to squeeze in as many sights as we could. The girls had never been to DC, so we had a long list of places we wanted to take them.

First up was the Museum of Natural History (probably my favorite). We were only able to get through a couple of the rooms before we had to move on to the next museum.

Next we made a quick stop in the Museum of American History because Olivia wanted to see Lincoln's top hat.

After that it was the National Air and Space Museum, which (not surprisingly) both girls said was their favorite.

Emma really wanted to try astronaut food, so the girls chose a neapolitan ice cream sandwich from the gift shop.

After three museums it was time for a break, so we went to the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial.

Last but not least was the National Archives to see the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. It was our last stop at the end of the day. We got in a very, very long line and barely got in the door before they stopped letting people in. We only had 10 minutes before the museum closed, but we hightailed it upstairs and saw the important stuff.

Bonus to getting in at the very end of the day - the museum was empty, so we got to see all the documents up close without the crowds.

There is so much to see in DC. Some of it we got to on this trip. Some of it we saw from afar. Some of it we will visit on another trip. All I know is we're all pretty tired and looking forward to a couple chill days as we start to make our way back home.
