I don't consider myself a very superstitious person. I don't worry about breaking mirrors or black cats or walking under ladders. But there are some things we just don't do because they are bad luck.

A lot of people have asked about our boat name. This is our third boat and we've always kept the name the same as when we bought it. Mostly because we're terrible at coming up with creative names, but also because it's bad luck to change the name without going through a proper ceremony.

Everyone asks what Yoto means. If you Google it the answers are all over the place. Honestly, we have no idea... but we weren't changing it.

Yoto (boat #3)

I've mentioned this before.... we are itching to get on the move north. We've loved our time in Grenada, but it is time to go. There are a couple factors that decide when we will go - (1) weather, (2) Friday. Have we ever left on a Friday? Yep. Will we ever do it again? Absolutely not.

Today (Friday) we planned to pull up anchor and move to another location. Since we are spending a couple days there technically we aren't starting a voyage, so we are all good.

Last night Emma had her final sailing lesson, we said goodbye to all our favorite servers at the restaurant and had one last rum punch by the pool.

Turns out the weather had different plans for us today, so we ended up staying put.

A non-boat superstition - game day. So far FSU is undefeated (9-0) this season which means every Saturday gets the same outfit, same jewelry and same FSU nails. The one week I left my nails bare we were losing pretty good. I fixed that during halftime and we ended up coming back and winning. Coincidence? Not at all. Tomorrow is a big rivalry game, and I'm all ready to go!
