The MN State Fair is one of my favorite summer activities. Last year we missed it because we were road tripping in the bus. This year our visit was cut short because of the rain. I really wanted to go back, but I was pretty sure no one else would want to. Turns out everyone wanted to go another time....

This time we were able to get all our favorite foods....

The one thing I really wanted was a picture with the mascots. We have one of these almost every year going back to 2014.

They've grown a bit since this one...

We also did the giant slide, the sky glider (more than once) and the giant sing along.

It was a great day - we all had fun, ate all our favorite foods, took lots of photos and stayed completely dry this time!

cousin-palooza

Ten days of cousin time was not enough, so when the girls flew home their cousins came too! They all arrived with a list of all the things they wanted to do in Minnesota, and we wasted no time crossing off the list. We made our first stop the Mall

Anchor Light Automation

There are very easy, simple solutions for automating an anchor light. Mostly, those solutions involve either a new anchor light housing or a new anchor light bulb with a photo cell. Both require going up the mast and can be decently pricey. I decided to pursue a path less traveled.
