Yesterday our final monarch butterfly hatched.

The other day I was checking on things in the yard when I saw a monarch laying eggs on some of the milkweed we have in our yard.

We've never hatched a caterpillar from an egg, so Emma brought one of the eggs into the house and we've been watching and waiting. Yesterday we checked the milkweed outside and saw some caterpillars, but still nothing with Emma's egg.

This morning we checked the egg, and it was gone. In its place the teeniest, tiniest caterpillar you've ever seen.
