around usvi
We had our very first (and very special) overnight guest on the boat. Braden's sister (Aunt Jenn) flew from Oregon to the US Virgin Islands (USVI) to spend time with us.
I have to say Aunt Jenn is a badass (I will owe Olivia $1 for that). She left Oregon on Tuesday night, flew all night, got to St. Thomas on Wednesday afternoon, took a taxi from the airport to the ferry, took the ferry from St. Thomas to St. John, took a dinghy ride from the ferry to the boat, sailed with us for 30 minutes while we moved the boat, then hopped in the water to snorkel with Olivia and paddleboard with Emma. I'm tired just typing all that out...
We spent the next couple days exploring St. John. We hiked to the Annaberg Plantation ruins.
We snorkeled with turtles, a shark and so many fish.
We ate pizza at a floating pizza boat.
We visited a shipwreck and pirate museum.
We also visited the Virgin Islands National Park visitor center, did some shopping, moved the boat to some different beaches, introduced her to some of our cruising friends, fixed a broken toilet and watched the sun set from a couple different anchorages. She really got it all - the good, the bad and the dirty.
Today we dropped Aunt Jenn at the airport. It doesn't matter if it is 5 days or 5 weeks... a family visit is never long enough. We're already looking forward to the next time we're together again. We love you Aunt Jenn!
