... and they're off!

Its been almost a year since we had any time off work… other than the occasional long holiday weekend which is always too short. Now that its a new year and we have vacation time again we decided to take advantage and take an early trip. We booked a last minute cruise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

I love cruises! We ate lots of food, took a nap every day and totally disconnected for an entire week. We debated about skipping excursions this time around since we’ve been to both places before, but ended up finding two we really wanted to do… and hadn’t done before.

In Grand Cayman we swam with stingrays. It was super cool! It reminded me of the pigs in the Bahamas. There were so many of them, and they definitely know that the sound of a boat engine means food. When we pulled up there were none… but it didn’t take long for them to show up.

These stingrays were not scared of people and would rub up against you to check if you had food.

In Cozumel we took a ferry to Playa del Carmen and saw the Tulum Mayan Ruins. I was not as excited about this one ( more of a Braden type excursion with history and run down rock formations )… but a bonus was all the iguanas!
